The goal of managing osteoporosis is to prevent fractures. In men, osteoporosis is underrecognized and undertreated. More men than women die every year as a consequence of hip fractures. Bisphosphonates are the first-line treatment of men and women. In the past several years, advances in bone biology have resulted in major therapeutic advances.
